We’d like to give a warm Mystery welcome to our new Client Manager – the creatively talented, design, dogs and roller-blading-obsessed Julia Barklem…

While Julia’s role is one of client management, this Sussex girl is also very artistically talented and obsessed with design, having gained distinction in her Art Foundation Diploma and a BA Hons in 3D Design and Crafts from the University of Brighton.

Being half German, Julia has a great pedigree in design obsession!  “I love submerging myself in design – whether this is a vase or print in the home, reading magazines, going to RIBA talks or even venturing to the Milan and London Design Weeks!”

A country girl at heart, she loves walking on the South Downs with her beloved dogs and taking photos (you’ll also see the dogs feature quite highly on her Instagram!).

Aside from dogs and design, Julia is a keen traveller and travel photographer, and a big foodie, which is great if you’re working on all the creative and inspiring new food projects we have at Mystery! After traveling for eight months around Asia she got seriously into Asian cooking and loves trying out new foods and techniques. She’s also working on making her own sour dough bread and brewing ‘kombucha’ (Asian tea)!

A keen roller-blader, she’s on a mission to spread the skate word to regular Londoners. You can find her blading around Hyde Park Corner on Sundays (in a big group of 250 – 500 people – hard to miss!) and skating around the streets of London.

We are really happy to have Julia in the studio and know she’s going to be a lot of fun and a huge asset to the team.
