What better way for Mystery to celebrate its own 20th Birthday than with a "FAB Award" and a "FABulous Award" at the 20th FABAwards2018 for Bōkan London!
Last night Mystery not only won a very well-deserved “FAB Award” (Gold) for its BŌKAN bar and restaurant design for a long-standing client, Accor, but also won a “FABULOUS” Award – Best in Show. The wins were for best creative in the Interiors / Retail Environment (Retailer) category.
The FABAwards, now in its 20th year, celebrates the best in domestic and international food and beverage creative design and marketing.
BŌKAN, housed in the top three floors of Novotel’s flagship building in Canary Wharf won Creative Award for Interiors in a Retail Environment in the 2018 FAB Awards, celebrated last night at the Hurlingham Club.
Set atop Accor’s brand-new flagship Novotel in Canary Wharf, with incredible 360-degree panoramic views over London, BŌKAN was designed to elevate drinking and dining experience to new heights.
Mystery was briefed to transform the 37, 38 & 39th floors into a destination F&B concept that would surpass expectations at every level and attract customers (hotel guests, locals and visitors) from across both London and the world to come and build lasting experiential memories.
Working in close collaboration with the in-house team from brand inception right through to completion, Mystery managed every aspect of the concept development, down to the smallest detail. This included brand strategy and naming, food and beverage menu development, interior design, graphic design and website design, overcoming the challenges this project posed, in particular, the logistical/access constraints of a brand-new, high rise building. The floors to house BŌKAN weren’t even built at the start of the project, so the concept had to evolve as the building was constructed upwards!
Our vision was for BŌKAN to become a dockside guiding light for artisanal food and drink, that would take inspiration from its industrial surrounds and bring to life the romance of this beautiful history. BŌKAN’s core value is about sensual discovery which infiltrates every aspect of the brand experience, from the views, the interior design, the food, drinks, service and even the toilets!
