Recently we had the pleasure of attending the private view for Alan Kitching’s 'A Life in Letterpress' at the Fedrigoni Imaginative Paper Studios as part of Clerkenwell Design Week 2017, a festival that celebrates ‘design’s creative richness, its social impact and power for change’.
During the talk, letterpress legend Alan spoke about the challenges, complexities and element of surprise that’s involved in the art, and often pain-staking process of traditional print making.
We were incredibly privileged to be shown a range of unique and original prints created by Alan over the past few decades.
It was awe-inspiring to listen to Alan's inspirational talk and see his vibrant, energetic and utterly committed body of work that has spanned a lifetime demonstrating that you only need the most basic of mark-making equipment to create visually stunning and complex pieces of artwork that truly stand the test of time.
