Mystery are a brand design agency specialising in the food and beverage sector. We have a broad range of clients from independent start ups to high profile corporate hospitality companies, who all choose to work with us due to our innovative, out-the-box thinking and brand-led approach, along with our ability to offer holistic solutions with graphic, web and interior design all developed in-house. We are proud of our diverse client portfolio as start-up projects enable us to have a ‘blank canvas’ approach to design whilst the larger, corporate projects enable us to authenticate our industry-tested skills and knowledge, built over 18 years within the field. We have a unique ability to take concepts from inception, through to naming, brand strategy, brand identity, interior visualisation and implementation and detailing.
We all chose to specialise within hospitality as we all love food and drink and the kitchen is often filled with delicious baked treats and we’d be lying if we said we weren’t often found down the local pub on a sunny Friday evening. We are a close-knit team who like to socialise in and out of office hours and love to share ideas about cool things that we have seen. We structure our client projects to enable designers to have ownership over projects from start to finish and all our designers have direct client contact alongside our dedicated account managers. Middleweight Interior Designer
You must have a minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience working on interiors for F&B brands.
Skills, Roles and Responsibilities
You will need to have a strong understanding of Vectorworks, Cinema 4D, Photoshop and InDesign and be Mac proficient.
You will need to demonstrate an understanding of brand strategy and contribute ideas during both internal and external workshops.
A proven ability to generate out-the-box, creative ideas that are also both market relevant and in line with the agreed direction for the brand, is essential.
Share ideas and inspiration research about new concepts and current trends.
Be proactive about meeting suppliers and maintain a strong awareness of new finishes and furniture. In turn everyone is expected to keep fellow team members and the library up-to-date.
Be highly motivated and organised with sourcing and specifying F.F.E and chasing suppliers for costs, lead times and samples where necessary.
Produce presentation quality visuals using Cinema4D and Photoshop as necessary.
Produce detail design intent drawing packs for tender purposes, including drawing schedules and F.F.E schedules.
Recognise problems and challenges and be able to discuss these with your seniors.
You will be expected to create presentations in InDesign as well as coordinate and construct sample boards for client meetings.
Liaise confidently with contractors during both tender and construction phases of projects.
Carry out site surveys and attend site visits to ensure that the design is built according to your design.
Maintain a professional, positive and motivated attitude both internally and externally.
You must be able to oversee, guide and delegate to junior members of the team and interns and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
You must be highly-motivated and experienced working to tight deadlines with an ability to up-the-pace when necessary and meet interim review deadlines.
You will also be expected to be able to confidently manage multiple projects at once and support fellow team members on their projects, when needed.
Fluent verbal and written English is essential.
Senior Interior Designer
You must have a minimum of 6 years relevant experience working on F&B brands to apply for the senior interior designer position.
You must have a proven understanding of brand-led design as you will, not only, be expected to design from client’s existing brand positioning documents but also be involved in the brand strategy development process itself and confidently lead and create brand positioning documents. You will be required to present these to clients demonstrating solid market awareness, clear rationale and innovative propositions that will differentiate their concept from the competition and create a clear platform for the design process.
You must have a proven ability to generate out-the-box, creative ideas that are also well considered, intelligent and realistically achievable from a construction perspective as well as within project cost and time parameters.
You must be able to oversee, guide and delegate to junior and middleweight members of the team and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. You will need to have a proven ability at problem solving and be able to support fellow team members with their problems and challenges.
You will need to be a conscientious leader, who inspires fellow team members and contributes to and encourages a positive working environment.
You will be expected to act with professionalism and confidence, both internally and externally and support the business to deliver projects on time and in a reliable and efficient manner, as well as monitoring and directing more junior designers when your seniors are out of the office.
You must be highly-motivated and experienced working to tight deadlines with an ability to up-the-pace when necessary.
The ideal candidate must be able to present to clients with confidence and clearly explain ideas with intelligent rationale, supported with industry and technical knowledge.
You must have an awareness of current concepts and food and drinks trends.
You must have a proven ability at leading multiple projects from start to finish and liaising with clients and contractors along the way.
You will need to have a strong understanding of Vectorworks, Cinema 4D, Photoshop and InDesign to a level whereby you can also help more junior members as required.
